Waste |
As with many places, waste is a constant issue for the Gilis. Please help to set a good example by disposing of your rubbish responsibly. Take your rubbish with you from the beaches, the sea is not a waste bin or an ashtray. If there are no bins available please take your waste with you until you find one! Next Clean Up Day on the 9th of October: be ready to register and clean the island with the local kids from the school as well as with the support of SATGAS, Janur Indah, FMPL and many more residsents and businesses who care! |
Please Remember |
- Dispose of waste in bins, refill your water bottle.
- If snorkeling please ensure you don't touch, kick or stand on coral even if you think it is just rock.
- Do not touch any of the marine life including turtles.
- Do not throw tissues or foreign objects in the toilet.

Donations |
Thanks to the Dive Shops from Lombok and Gili Air who have now agreed to charge their divers the same 40,000IDR charged by the Dive Shops in the Gilis, to help fund such projects as the moorings and patrolling of the fishing zones. We hope this will become common practice with all the Dive Shops that dive around the Gili Islands. |
Anchoring |
All of the Islands have harbour areas with dedicated anchoring areas, if you have a boat or are visiting on a live aboard, please ensure that the boats are responsibly moored. Anchors are one of the largest reasons for coral destruction in the 3 Islands. |
